Before figuring out just how special celery juice is or isn’t, it’s important to know what makes celery such a fantastic vegetable to consume in general.

Celery is high in

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin K
  • Folate
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Electrolytes

Celery is mostly water, and has been a favorite in weight loss circles for decades. It is a naturally fulfilling and hydrating food, high in fiber when eaten solid. Celery by all means, no matter how enjoyed is extremely healthy.

What about juicing it?

Some, like The Medical Medium, insist that the best way is to drink celery juice, on its own without any other green juices or fruits. While the dietary fiber in celery has its own benefits, juicing it makes it far easier to get more nutrients in a reduced quantity. Without the fiber to fill us up, and with the easy digestibility of liquid, the many vitamins, minerals and electroytes are quickly absorbed by the body in ways solid digestion cannot.

When should I juice my celery?

The most opportune time to juice celery for yourself is first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. The more digestion you are currently undergoing, the less absorption capacity your body is going to have, and the more energy will be committed to digestion. Be sure to drink the majority of what you’ve juiced right away for the best benefit!
